UK importers are facing exceptional delays at Felixstowe port

UK importers are facing exceptional delays at Felixstowe port due, primarily, to congestion caused due to preparations for Brexit. This is causing long delays for getting goods to our customers. Import containers are getting diverted to different ports including to continental ports such as Antwerp and Rotterdam . We apologise to all our customers who have been affected by these delays.

These have been caused by factors far beyond our control. We foresee that the problem is likely to get worse in the next few months before it gets better. We are exploring avenues of importing goods through ports other than Felixstowe. However, this is not particularly easy since origin shippers find it difficult to get direct sailing to UK ports other than Felixstowe , London Gateway and Southampton. We hope our customers will bear with us and the system in these difficult times. I am sure we will have something more fluid and consistent to look forward to in 2021.
